Weekly Menu and Weekend Scenes
Happy Tuesday, hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! Before I recap ours, here's what's cooking this week...
Tuesday- Vegetable Lasagna
Wednesday- leftovers
Thursday- Turkey Chili
Friday- Stromboli & Salad
Saturday- out
Sunday- Grilled Chicken with Greek Pasta Salad
Now onto our weekend...Riley started his first job! He's working three days a week at the Nantucket Pharmacy on Main Street. There comes a point that if you want to enjoy island life, you need to start paying for it!
I made a chicken and andouille sausage gumbo Friday night for dinner and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to grab our first Bartlett's pie of the summer. We opted for strawberry rhubarb with homemade vanilla ice cream.
I was up and out early on Saturday morning for the Firecracker 5K sponsored by the Nantucket Health Club. We don't live too far from the start so I ran down, but it was so humid I was dripping by the time I made it to the race!
After enjoying the beach on Saturday, we cleaned up and headed into town for 5:00 Mass...
After Mass, we went to the Brant Point Grill at the White Elephant.
I had the swordfish over a quinoa tabouleh with grilled radicchio.
Mr. PS enjoyed a filet...
Riley and Reagan finished off with the dark chocolate cake and peanut butter ice cream!
I had the blueberry and peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream...
It was so nice to resume my early morning bike rides on Sunday! The island is so quiet and I love riding east to Sconset just after the sun rises! I have a 16 mile loop that I love!
When I returned home, we hit Island Kitchen for breakfast. Mr. PS and the kids have been there before, but this was my first trip. Lots of good options, I tried the egg white and vegetable scrabble with toast and a side of black beans! Delish!
Nantucket fireworks were held Sunday night so we planned a beach picnic for dinner and stayed for the fireworks. It cooled off, but it was beautiful evening!
After a full afternoon at the beach and funfilled holiday weekend, it was great to have a quiet evening at home...

Yesterday was a picture perfect day here!
Riley worked during the annual Main Street festivities, so after picking him up downtown we headed straight for the beach where someone clearly enjoyed herself...After a full afternoon at the beach and funfilled holiday weekend, it was great to have a quiet evening at home...

ReplyDeleteGood luck to him! They're young to be working, but so far it's been a good experience, hope you find the same!
