Snow and Sweet Surprises
We've had snowstorm after snowstorm here outside of Boston and while it's certainly seasonal, it's wearing out its welcome. It's wreaked havoc on public transportation, parking lots are half their original size due to huge snow piles, restaurants and retail businesses have lost revenue and homes have been damaged.
We have so much snow, it's quite possible that we won't see the ground again until late April! Here's the wall of snow in our driveway and at the corner of our street...

Honestly all of this snow is enough to drive anyone nuts! Fortunately we already had a warm weather trip planned for the April school vacation week, but when the snowstorms started a few weeks ago, I looked at the calendar and realized that Riley had Easter Monday off in addition to Good Friday. I did some investigating, found some great deals, convinced Mr. PS and this weekend we surprised the kids with a letter and gift bag...full of Disney World goodies!
They were super excited, the big kids have been twice before in 2005 and 2008 and have even visited Disneyland in 2010, but this will be Rowan's first trip. It will be a quick trip to the Mouse, but that's just fine with Mr. PS and me as we can only deal with so much Disney hoopla. We're all outfitted, matching t-shirts, water bottles and luggage tags! Now we just hope that the snow stops so we can escape!
Dining and FastPass reservations have been made, MagicBands have been customized...what am I forgetting? Any Disney tips for us?
I bought the girls lots of pins on eBay (in actual lots) for trading.
ReplyDeleteAnd I always take dollar store rain ponchos.
What a great idea. Don't forgot hats and sunscreen!! You will deserve some warm and sunny days after this winter!!!
