Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

I know it's been few days, I've had some technical difficulties and have been a bit too busy to address them so I'm just getting back on track.

I can't believe it's August, wasn't I just complaining about the snow?  I'm sad to say that we'll be ferrying back to the mainland three weeks from today, hopefully we'll be ready to go.  There's part of me that could leave the mainland conveniences behind and live here forever.

Here's what we've been up to lately...

The kids wrapped up a junior summer golf program last week at Miacomet Golf Club...someone is hoping to join them next year!
The big kids took a second surf lesson with Nantucket Island Surf School at Cisco Beach.
Someone is looking forward to learning how to surf too!
Rowan loves to hit the playground at Bartlett's Farm on Thursdays when we pick up our CSA!
Riley, Rowan and I tried Barcos y Tacos Thursday evening for dinner.  Reagan was at the movies so I took full advantage and opted not to cook!
It's definitely Nantucket's version of Chipolte. They're open from 6:30am (breakfast burritos) until 10pm serving a lunch/dinner menu.
The girls make some Pinkalicious cupcakes for dessert Friday night.  Reagan loved the book when she was little and now Rowan is enjoying the story too!  Ro kept checking her belly to see if she was turning pink!
We enjoyed a beautiful day at the beach on Saturday and stopped by Brant Point on our way out to dinner. We love lighthouses!
We headed out to the west end of the island for dinner at Millie's.  The restaurant's second floor has beautiful views and is a great place to catch the sunset!
The Great Point Salad (greens, sprouts, mango, peanuts & grilled shrimp) is my usual!
The big kids love the Tom Nevers (Jerk Chicken & Jack Cheese) Quesadilla!
Mr. PS enjoyed the Tuckernuck (Steak) Tacos...
While Millie's doesn't serve dessert, they do serve ice cream from The Ice Cream Machine next door at Mille's Market!
Sunday we hit nearby Madequecham beach where the waves were perfect for boogie boarding!  My favorite former Today Show co-anchor was sitting just to our left and even she was out there boogie boarding which Mr. PS harassed me about!  For the record this is the second time we've been on the beach with her, once back in 2011!
It's a busy week with the big kids both involved with activities although I'm looking forward to having some one on one time with Rowan!

Here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Crock Pot Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Corn on the Cob
Tuesday- Leftover Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Wednesday- Crock Pot Bacon, Corn & Potato Chowder
Thursday- Farfalle with Roasted Eggplant & Ricotta
Friday- Beach Picnic
Saturday- Grilled Fish
Sunday- Birthday dinner @Brant Point Grill

  1. I love living vicariously through your Nantucket summer! Are you referring to Katie Couric?

  2. Yes, Sunny, it was Katie :) My husband spotted her coming on to the beach, I was reading so didn't notice until I heard the voice! She's one of those people that you think you know because you've been watching her for so long. We always leave her alone to enjoy her vacation...

    1. Aaawwww...you're nice! I would feel compelled to talk to her; which I am sure she would find annoying! So fun to be able to take a surreptitious look from behind your book!
