Nantucket Tidbits
I usually spend time in February and March planning for our Nantucket summer stay, including ferry reservations, kid activities and road races. I also look at the family calendar and try to plan some off-season trips so that we can enjoy the island without the crowds!
Let's start with what's going on in 2017...
Daffodil Festival Weekend ~ April 29-30
Wine Festival ~ May 17-21
Memorial Day/Figawi Weekend ~ May 17-21
Book Festival ~ June 16-18
Race for Open Space ~ July 8
Nantucket Triathlon ~ July 15
Boston Pops on Nantucket ~ August 12
Summer Groove ~ August 19
Columbus Day Weekend ~ October 7-9
Stroll Weekend ~ December 1-3
Restaurant Changes...
The Club Car was sold last year and is undergoing some renovations, it will retain its name and re-open this spring.
The Charlie Noble is opening in the Nix's Brew Pub space on Water Street, it will be a seafood restaurant by the same owners of B-ACK Yard BBQ.
Sandbar at Jetties Beach is taking the place of The Jetties, the menu is still kid-friendly and casual so not a major change if you've come to love this beach front spot! The new owners have worked at a variety of island restaurants so they know the business well.
You can find more island information and our favorite Nantucket restaurants, lodging and things to do under my new Nantucket tab!
