Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

What a weekend!  While we were very fortunate to have beautiful weather here, we were glued to the television watching Irma hit Florida.  Fortunately it appears as though it wasn't as catastrophic as originally expected and it looks as though Jose may fizzle out!

With that said, on with our weekend...Saturday morning we headed to Dover Days for the Dover Dash which included a kids' race and a 5K.  Rowan ran her first road race...
It was off to a good start...
I trailed behind...
About half way through there were tears, but she made it to the finish!
The 5K went off shortly after and I received my first "handcrafted" medal for 2nd place in my age division...
After lunch we hit Oktoberfest at our local German American Club, it's a two day affair and is always a good time!
We took the kids out to a local restaurant for dinner and called it a day!  Sunday morning I hit SoulCycle and prepped for our Cousins Back-to-School Pizza Party that afternoon.  I found these apple cupcakes on Pinterest and thought they turned out cute!
We have a busy week ahead with a birthday in the house on Friday and we're also prepping for our Spanish exchange student to arrive next week, she'll be with us for ten days.  Here's what we have cooking...

Monday- Leftover Pizza & Salad
Tuesday- One Pan Greek Chicken
Wednesday- Heart Healthy Turkey Chili
Thursday- Spanakopita & Salad
Friday- Spaghetti & Meatballs
Saturday- family birthday dinner out
Sunday- TBD

How was your weekend?  Did you experience Irma?

  1. Rowan looks like me running a 5k! Starts out great and ends in tears!
I am so glad we just had lots of rain and wind here from Irma. Clemson has cancelled classes yesterday and today due to no power and trees down everywhere. Who would have ever thought Irma would do so much damage that far inland!

  2. I barely know what day it is....but we are grateful Irma spared us. Lots of power outages around us and roads are a mess. It should get better each day. The Keys though.....they didn't do as well. Happy Hump Day!!
