Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a wonderful summer weekend!  After last weekend's jam packed schedule, we were delighted to kick back and relax a bit more this past weekend!

We hit a north shore beach on Friday before Mr. PS arrived on Island.  One of the things I like best about Nantucket is that there are so many beaches that you can always find one that's not too crowded.

 The kids love to come home from the beach and jump in the pool at our complex...

We cleaned up, picked up a Lola Burger order to-go, grabbed Mr. PS off the ferry and hit the beach for a sunset picnic at Steps Beach.

This was always our "last night on Nantucket" tradition when we rented a house.   It's such a beautiful peaceful spot, you're reminded to be thankful for this little island!

I went for a run on Saturday morning and then we packed up lunch and hit Miacomet Beach.  The weather wasn't great so we almost had the beach to ourselves.  Saturday evening we cleaned up and tried a new restaurant, Atlas BBQ & Fish House, with friends.

We started with a cocktail at the bar...their "Summer in Provence" with muddled peaches, elderflower liquor and rose was so refreshing!  The group tried a variety of dishes and all were delicious and very generous portions!

I got out and did my usual Sunday morning bike ride to the eastern end of the island and then we hit 11:30am mass.  Again, not a great beach day, but we went for it anyway!

Mr. PS left last night and of course today was a true beach day with temps nearing 90! So I hit the beach with the kids...

Monday- Zucchini and Squash Homemade Mac n' Cheese

Tuesday- Take out Sushi by Yoshi

Wednesday- Bay Scallop Chowder and Salad

Thursday- Chicken and Waffles (we've been obsessed with this dish and are making our own version)

Friday- Pork Carnitas and Yellow Rice

Saturday- out with kids at Fifty-Six Union

Sunday- something on the grill!
