Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Hello again, Monday!  What a weekend!  We took off around 2:00 on Friday afternoon for a CYO basketball championship tournament in Connecticut and finally arrived home last night around 8:00pm.  We ended up taking two cars down due to some logistics which worked out well.

Reagan traveled down with her dad, a team coach, and Riley and I hit the road after I picked him up at school. While they went straight to the hotel for team activities, Riley and I made a pitstop in Hartford for dinner at the USS Chowderpot IV which is awesome, but you feel like you're in a 1980 time warp!
 The chowder was delicious!
They bring bread covered in melted honey butter...
I enjoyed their seared tuna salad...
We made it to the hotel after dinner where we met the group and enjoyed everyone's company in the lobby until we finally decided we best get the kids to bed!

The championship tournament is made up of three rounds.  Last year our girls were eliminated in the first round so we knew that could happen again.  They played a team from the Diocese of Hartford at 11:45am...
 and won to everyone's delight!
They went on to win their second round game at 3:30pm too which would sent them to the final round on Sunday afternoon!

We planned a team dinner for all of the players and parents Saturday night at a local restaurant to celebrate the girls' amazing season...they were undefeated up to this point!  It was fun to gather as a basketball family!
Sunday morning a scooted out and headed about a half hour north to run the Greater Danbury Half Marathon.  It was pretty cold and windy and had snowed a bit that morning so I was really not looking forward to running it, but I had signed up so I needed to get it done!  After tackling several serious hills over the 13.1 mile course, I was fine with my 2:11 finish.
I made it back just in time for the final round of the championship tournament where they faced off against a team from the Diocese of Bridgeport.
Sadly, they suffered their first loss of the season to this team, but they fought hard and should be very proud of all that they accomplished this season.  No other team from their school has ever made it this far!  Love this girl...
I think we're all dragging a bit this morning.  I'm even taking a day off from the workout schedule!  It doesn't help that we're expecting a few inches of snow today...not cool!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend too, here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Spinach, Tomato and Provolone Stromboli
Tuesday- Lasagna & Salad
Wednesday- leftovers
Thursday- Turkey Chili & Cornbread
Saturday- birthday party
Sunday- BBQ
