What's the Scoop Wednesday

Humphry Slocombe
San Francisco

We visited Humphry Slocombe at their Harrison Street location in the Mission District which is one of two retail locations. It was quiet last Friday, apparently unusual for this artisan ice cream shop that's been around since December of 2008.
We were greeted by their flavor board which included a combination of their best sellers, seasonal favorites and chef's choice.
And a smiling scooper who was quite willing to let us try anything we wanted!
They offer some pretty unusual flavors such as Red Hot Banana (bottom center)...banana ice cream with cinnamon red hots and Halvabaloo (top left)...black vinegar and halva ice cream.
We opted for smalls which were the perfect mid-afternoon snack size!  Riley tried the Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple...
Reagan had a Malted Milk Chocolate cone...
Mr. PS had their signature flavor, Secret Breakfast...bourbon ice cream and crushed cornflakes!  It was unbelievably good!  I had a cup of their Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee, their first flavor and strongest for sure!
Rowan tried their "Princess Project" Pink Lemonade (a sorbet) which helps support a prom dress donation program!
The shop is small, but there are a few counter seats...
You can buy Humphry Slocombe pints in their shop as well as at several local Whole Foods and other retailers.
They also ship nationally through Goldbely which will make the perfect Father's Day gift for Mr. PS!
