It's beginning to look like Easter!

I put our St. Patrick's Day decor away earlier this week and out came the Easter decor.  I love when the two holidays are separated by a few weeks!

Of course I started with our carrot door hanger from Bronwyn Hanahan Art...
Tulips, Hershey's Eggs and a fresh Yankee Candle on the kitchen island...
A seasonal runner and 2002 Longaberger Easter basket in the dining room...
 Living room touches...
Each child has a Longaberger Easter basket that the Easter Bunny fills.  I love the heirloom quality of these baskets and eventually they will be passed on to the children.
 Riley's 2009 Longaberger Easter basket...
Reagan's 2004 Longaberger Easter basket...
 Rowan's 2013 Longaberger Easter basket...
The Easter Bunny has been very busy finding special treats that each child will enjoy and looks forward to filling those baskets again this year!

Happy Easter!

Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

It's a cold rainy Monday here and as far as I'm concerned, March has four days to redeem itself and it had better not be a bad influence on April!  Can you tell I've had enough of winter?  Hope your weather is better!

So let's go back to Friday when it was 35 degrees and cloudy.  Somehow I motivated myself to get outside and run 5 miles!
I was glad I did and rewarded myself with a coffee at Dunkin' Donuts, love the Bruins cups!
I picked up the littlest from school and we grabbed some milk and ice cream (for her) at Crescent Ridge Dairy.  There's something about milk in glass bottles...
Mr. PS was at the Celtics game Friday night and I made spinach, tomato and mozzarella Stromboli as planned knowing there would be good leftovers for lunch the next day.
I hit spin class Saturday morning and then chained myself to the ironing board for the day!  Please tell me that I'm not the only one with a two feet high ironing pile...in my defense, we are a family of five!

Saturday night we went to Alta Strada in Wellesley for dinner while Reagan was at a theater festival at the high school.
I had the salmon with sautéed white beans and arugula...so good!
We had a few minutes before we needed to pick her up so we opted for the nearby J.P. Licks rather than dessert at the restaurant.
Mr. PS somehow had room for this PB Cup Sundae!
Rowan loved her chocolate cone, last year she was on a strawberry kick, now it's chocolate all the time!
Coffee chip frozen yogurt for me...
and a coffee frappe for this kid...as usual!
I hit the gym early on Sunday and we spect a good portion of the morning planning for the spring and our trips to Charleston and Las Vegas!  I finally got cleaned up and it was time to take the girls to see a production of Aladdin, Jr. by Reagan's former classmates.
They always do an amazing job with three talented women leading the cast and crew.
The guys provisioned for dinner while we were out, but opted to throw this together...zoodles primavera with scallops and turkey bacon.  Random, but delicious and healthy!
I hit sports conditioning class this morning and then the supermarket.  Here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Salad Bar with Roasted Chicken
Tuesday- out
Wednesday- Skinny Meatloaf (add diced green pepper), Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans
Thursday- Meatloaf Sandwiches
Friday- Spinach Ravioli Bake
Saturday- school auction
Sunday- out after Mass

How was your weekend? What's cooking at your house this week?

Strip at Night!

That sounds a bit racy, doesn't it?
I posted earlier this month about my desire to run the Rock n' Roll Marathon Series in Las Vegas.  Well insider registration opened yesterday and after consulting with Mr. PS who may just want a trip to Vegas, I went for it!

There are a few race options available, I went for the 5K on Saturday (only option) and the half marathon on Sunday (there's also a 10K and marathon on Sunday).  Insider registration and prices are available through 3/26 with the code LVINSIDER2017.

After reviewing the map of the race course and Tripadvisor, we've booked a room at the Mandarin Oriental for the Veteran's Day weekend races.

Any Vegas advice?  Must sees?  Restaurant recommendations?

Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Happy spring!  We still have almost a foot of snow on the ground, but the weather will soon warm up and I'm really looking forward to losing the winter wear!

We kicked off the weekend with Lucky Charms for breakfast on St. Patrick's Day !  I held off on green milk...
While the Lucky Charms are cute, I opted for a green juice before my Friday barre class.
I made Skinnytaste Crock Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes for dinner...
Mr. PS and I thought it was delicious, the kids not so much so I think I'll be returning to my usual Guinness Pot Roast next year!
I hit spin class on Saturday morning, did a quick change and was off to run a 5K a few miles away...it was a balmy 27 degrees!  I finally thawed out at the 2.5 mile mark.
The 3.3 mile course was a bit hilly, so I was slower than my usual 5K time.
I zipped home to shower and it was off to the salon for haircuts!
Mr. PS and I were off to Riley's school gala that evening.
I didn't take a lot of photos, but had to get one of the salad with the X pastry puff representing the school's name.
There was a great band and I of course forced Mr. PS to dance, although I don't think he minded.
I was off to the gym on Sunday and then a fundraising meeting for Rowan's school.  We hit 5:00 Mass grabbed dinner out.

And just like that it's Monday again!  Today is free cone day at Dairy Queen  so go grab some free ice cream!
I'm off to the supermarket in a bit, here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Pea & Pancetta Risotto (carry over from last week)
Tuesday- Soup & Panini
Wednesday- Pesto Tortellini with Asparagus
Thursday- Cheeseburger Pie, Fries & Salad
Friday- Spinach, Plum Tomato & Mozzarella Stromboli
Saturday- out
Sunday- TBD

Have a wonderful week!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Top of the morning to you!  Kids are starting their day with General Mills Limited Edition Lucky Charms...
and I'm starting my day with Jus by Julie Sweet Spin!
Getting the slow cooker going this morning and off to barre class!  Have a Happy St. Pat's!

Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Happy Monday!  Today's the calm before winter storm Stella hits tomorrow morning and brings us 12-18" inches with blizzard conditions...ugh!
It was another freezing cold weekend here too!  We had a couple of inches of snow on Friday, but I was determined to wear my Prep Obsessed "Lucky" t-shirt from their March Mailer.
I hit spin class on Saturday morning and again despite the frigid temps, was determined to dress festively for spring!
The guys took off to Boston for the Bruins/Flyers game...
where the Bruins sported their St. Patrick's Day jerseys!
This kid loves his Bruins!
While the guys enjoyed the game, we hit Nordstrom to return a pair of shoes. Although Reagan found some new ones...
When we returned home, Rowan and I made some Shamrock sugar cookies!
We had pizza and salad for dinner...
and then it was off to watch Reagan in a school play.
I did a cardio workout early Sunday morning before we met my in-laws for brunch.
We went to Osteria Toscana in Johnston, Rhode Island.  I had an egg white veggie omelette with a side of greens which was delicious!
I hit the supermarket while Mr. PS took the kids to the indoor driving range and then it was home to relax!
Mr. PS grilled burgers for dinner, of course I turned mine into a burger salad with some roasted sweet potatoes and avocado!
I'm off to sports conditioning class and then a fundraising meeting for Rowan's school.  One last trip to the supermarket, gathering the kids from school and hunkering down for Stella!

Here's what's cooking...

Monday- Soup & Panini
Tuesday- Pea & Pancetta Risotto
Wednesday- Baked Chicken Parmesan & Angel Hair/Zoodles
Thursday- Chicken Parm Subs (leftovers)
Friday- Crock Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage & Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes
Saturday- school gala
Sunday- out after Mass

How was your weekend?  Are you prepping for snow too?
