runDisney Calendar

runDisney expanded its calendar last week through May of 2018.  It includes event dates as well as "on sale" dates which is very helpful if you're aiming for some of their more popular events!
I really can't say enough good things about the runDisney organization.  They are pros and their races are well done with every detail in mind.  I would highly recommend them to any runner looking for a distance race or walker/beginning runner looking for a fun 5K!

You may recall that I really enjoyed the Dumbo Double Dare at Disneyland back in September!
I would runDisney again in a heartbeat, but I suspect I might receive a big eye roll if I mentioned it here at Chez PS!

Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Happy Cyber Monday!  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend!

While I steer clear of shopping centers and malls on Black Friday and the weekend after Thanksgiving, I do take advantage of the online deals to do some of my holiday shopping.  Right now I'm patiently waiting for the Lands' End site to come back to life, apparently 50% of everything jammed it up!

So in the meantime, here's how we enjoyed the long weekend...we relaxed and cleaned up the house on Friday morning.  It was a rainy day so we decided to try Heritage of Sherborn for lunch and then go for a drive.
We picked up some firewood and enjoyed a fire and Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner Friday night, one of the perks of hosting the holiday!
Saturday I ran the Race for a Cure 10K in our former hometown which supports families dealing with Cystic Fibrosis and a local scholarship in honor of a young lady in the community who lost her battle a few years.
Saturday evening, Mr. PS and I hit the TPC Boston for a steak & seafood night!  It was nice to get out!
I hit barre class on Sunday morning and put most of the Thanksgiving decor away!  My Mom & Dad brought us a basket of holiday cheer and my annual fruitcake so that put me in the mood to start decorating.  We won't put the tree up for another week or so, but figured I would start the process!
Definitely not serving turkey this week, but here's what is cooking...

Monday- Gnocchi with Spinach, Tomatoes & Cannellini Beans
Tuesday- Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese
Wednesday- Sheet Pan Shrimp Fajitas
Thursday- Meatball Subs
Friday- Pesto Chicken Tortellini with Roasted Tomatoes
Saturday- out for Reagan's birthday
Sunday- out after Mass & confirmation class

How was your Thanksgiving?  Did you take advantage of any fabulous deals this weekend?

Cravory Cookies

We received two dozen cookies from The Cravory last week which are incredibly delicious!  This San Diego based business launched in 2009 offers a variety of creative cookie flavors.  Our box was a mix of their Adventurous Mix, November Flavors and Best Sellers Mix.
Each healthy sized 2oz. cookie arrives individually wrapped to preserve its flavor and ensure freshness for up to two weeks.  They can be frozen if you wan them to last longer!
We dug right in and sampled the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie...
 Birthday Cake...
 Red Velvet...
and Matcha Matcha...
The person who sampled Pineapple Upside Down was too quick for my camera, but apparently it was okay. Cravory Cookies are sold at their two San Diego area cookie shops, farmers markets and a variety of stockists in the San Diego area.  Cookies are also available through a cookie subscription service (10-25% off), as corporate gifts and wedding/event favors.  If you're looking for a fun holiday gift to send, look no further than Cravory Cookies!

Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Good morning!  We woke up to flurries and a little snow on the ground today, winter is on it's way!
We had a really nice weekend kicking off the Thanksgiving holiday.  On Saturday, the big kids and I helped assemble 3,200 Thanksgiving meals organized by a local business that fundraises all year just for this!
It's an amazing assembly line operation, many hands make light work!
On Sunday, Turkeys were added to each roasting pan package and delivered to homes throughout southeastern Massachusetts!  We haven't participated in the delivery process yet, but we would like to help out with that in the future.
Saturday evening, Mr. PS went out to one of our favorite restaurants, Pane E Vino in Providence, Rhode Island.
The food and service are consistently excellent!
Affogato is becoming our favorite dessert!
I hit barre class on Sunday morning and then I was off to a 4 mile Turkey Trot in Norwood, Massachusetts. The temperature hovered around 45, but it was so windy that it felt much cooler!
The final mile was a slow incline, ugh!
Done!  I have another one on Thursday morning so this was a good warm-up since I haven't been running much lately.
In addition to the typical post race bananas and bagels, Odwalla was giving runners Odwalla smoothies, yum!
We ended off the weekend with 5:00 Mass and confirmation class.

Here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Parent Conferences...Tenders, Tots and Green Beans for the kids
Tuesday- Spaghetti, Meatballs, Salad
Wednesday- Meatball Subs
Thursday- Thanksgiving Dinner
Friday- leftovers
Saturday- out
Sunday- TBD

How was your weekend?  Are you hosting Thanksgiving or on the road?

Fall/Winter Fitness Routine (revised)

Happy Friday! I posted my fall fitness routine here back in September, but I have definitely tweaked it a bit since then so I thought I would come back and share my new and improved routine!

We're heading into cooler temps and less than ideal running conditions here in New England and since running is already on the back burner, it's not on my weekly schedule.  Weather permitting, I will squeeze in running 3-5 miles once a week in place of something else...

Monday- Cardio (45-60 minutes)
Tuesday- HIIT Boot Camp (1 hour)
Wednesday- Spin (1 Hour)
Thursday- Total Body Conditioning (45 minutes), Cardio (30 minutes)
Friday- Barre (1 hour), Cardio (30 Minutes)
Saturday- Spin (1 hour)
Sunday- Barre (1 hour)

What does your fitness routine look like?

Things I'm Loving Thursday (holiday decor)

No I haven't started decorating for the holidays yet, I'm just getting geared up!  We're still enjoying our fall/Thanksgiving decor here, but will probably start decorating for Christmas on December 1st!

Here are a few things every preppy holiday home needs...
Smathers and Branson Needlepoint Ornaments
What holiday decor are you loving this year?  When do you start decorating?
