Day trip to Savannah

Our last full day in South Carolina called for rain so we decided to jump in the car for an impromptu road trip down to Georgia!  Savannah is about a two hour ride from the Charleston area.  It rained off and on all day...
We decided to try The Olde Pink House at The Planters Inn for lunch based on some recommendations.
Our server brought us Pimento Cheese Sticks served in a mason jar to start.
Mr. PS and I both went for the Fried Chicken Chopped Salad.
Continuing his love affair with fried chicken, Riley ordered the Country Fried Chicken.
Reagan tried the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken.
While we would have enjoyed to walk around Savannah a bit, the weather wasn't cooperating so we used our map and drove around downtown.
We hit Byrd's for some cookies, sadly they were out of Georgia Peach...
but we may have found some suitable replacements!
We couldn't resist The Paula Dean Store!

From Savannah, we drove east to Tybee Island.
 We love a good lighthouse!
On our way back to Charleston, someone notice the Krispy Kreme "HOT NOW" sign was illuminated.
Who can resist those fresh doughnuts?
We pulled back in to our home away from home a little after 7pm, so glad we added Savannah to our trip itinerary!

Have you been to Savannah or Tybee Island?

  1. My college roommate was from Savannah and still lives there with her family. Such a beautiful city.
