Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

Happy Monday!  We're less than a week away from Christmas and while all the gifts have been purchased, not one of them is wrapped!  So that is my mission this week along with cleaning and prepping food for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

It was a busy, fun weekend...we started our weekend early with Mr. PS's holiday party at The Taj Hotel in Boston overlooking the Public Garden.  It was a lovely evening and it's always fun to see his co-workers and their spouses.
Friday was the big kids last school day before their holiday break, they dressed festively for the occasion!
Saturday afternoon, Mr. PS and I checked into the Castle Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island.
We stayed in one of their six Harbor Houses...
Our queen room was cozy...
with a gas fireplace...
and an adorable deck with a view!
There was nice selection of local goodies!
The bathroom was a little tight, but modern.
Afternoon tea was included with our stay, it was the perfect pick-me-up after a long snowy ride down to Rhode Island!
Their dining room provides almost 360 degree views of Naragansett Bay.
We dressed for the evening and headed downtown to meet some college friends for an annual holiday dinner...
at the historic White Horse Tavern!
We started with a cocktail at the upstairs bar and were then seated in a small private dining room.
I enjoyed the Sumac Crusted Tuna...
and homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert!
Sunday morning we returned to the main inn for breakfast, also included in our stay!
I had an egg white, spinach, mushroom and goat cheese omelet.
Mr. PS went with the buttermilk pancakes!
After breakfast we took a ride around Newport and Jamestown before picking up the kids at my parents'. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves there too!
I'm off to the gym and grocery store this morning, here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Caprese Panini & Tomato Soup
Tuesday- Soft Beef Tacos, Salad and Mexi Rice
Wednesday- Hawaiian Chicken, Brown Rice & Pineapple, Red Onion, Pepper Salsa
Thursday- Ham and Brie Pop Tarts and Roasted Broccoli
Friday- Take-out Pizza & Salad
Saturday- Christmas Eve at my BIL & SIL's (bring lasagna)
Sunday- Beef Tenderloin, Garlic Roasted Fingerlings, Creamed Spinach & Roasted Asparagus

How was your weekend?  Are you hosting Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
