Menu Monday and Weekend Scenes

The Thanksgiving leftovers are long gone so here's what's cooking this week...

Monday- Pasta Spinach Bake
Tuesday- Tacos, Mexi Rice, Salad
Wednesday- Chicken and Dumplings
Thursday- Spinach, Sausage & Ricotta Stromboli
Friday- leftovers
Saturday- out for Reagan's birthday
Sunday- Soup & Panini

We spent a good portion of Friday cleaning up the house after hosting Thanksgiving dinner.  We also packed for a brief getaway to Newport, Rhode Island for a wedding reception.

After getting the kids settled with my parents, we took off for Newport.  We had a couple of hours before we needed to get ready so we strolled a bit downtown.  We stopped into Kilwins for some fudge to bring home.
 The homemade ice cream looked so good, but I knew I had to put on a dress!
We also stopped into the Shore Soap Company where everything smelled so good!  I loved their holiday scent, Jack Frost!
 We stayed at The Attwater which is a boutique style B&B that is part of the Lark Hotels group.
I loved the modern decor!  
We had a king suite on the second floor.
 The sitting room had a gas fireplace!
 We got ready and Ubered over to OceanCliff where the reception was being held.
 We pulled up after dark so I snapped this photo the next day.
It was a beautiful venue and everything was perfectly executed!
It was late night so it was nice to sleep in!  Breakfast was included at The Attwater.  I was delighted to find lots of healthy and creative options, all served as small plates.
We went to 11:00am Mass at St. Mary's where John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier were married in 1953.
After Mass, we enjoyed a quick lunch at The Black Pearl before picking up the kids.  The chowder is a must!
