Menu Monday and Vacation Week Scenes

Happy Monday!  After a week long break, the kids are back to school today and I'm looking forward to a good run once I drop off the littlest.

While we didn't go away last week I think the kids had a good week off.  They finally learned how to ski! When your mom grows up in south Florida, learning how to ski is not a given.  I attempted to get them into a program a few years ago, but they declined.  I was excited that they finally agreed!

While the big kids were enrolled in a three-day program, Rowan had a private lesson since she was too young for the group lessons.
After 70 minutes with her instructor, she was fairly comfortable on her skis!
Reagan had a tough first day, but stuck it out for all three days!
Thursday we had a runner installed on the stairs and had a garage organization system installed, I'll spare you the garage photos.  After being on the road Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday it was good to catch up at home!
Thursday evening we took my father-in-law out to dinner for his birthday to Pane E Vino on Federal Hill in Providence.  I had salmon with black lentils and steamed asparagus, I could eat this everyday!
We had an impromptu trip to the pediatrician on Friday morning as Ro was a little under the weather, but she bounced back quickly.  We outfitted the big kids for golf at Dick's Sporting Goods and then grabbed some lunch and ice cream at Bliss Bros. Dairy since it was 70 degrees!
I hit my usual Saturday morning spin class and got some housework done before heading out for a birthday dinner for my mom.  I broke out a spring Lilly Elsa top since it's been feeling like spring here!
MiMi's birthday crew at Fleming's in Providence.
I started with the wedge salad...
and then had the king crab legs which were delicious!
I opted for the fresh berries with chantilly cream for dessert!
Sunday I took the big kids back to Nashoba for one more day of skiing.  I couldn't believe that there was still snow after four days of 60+ degree weather.
After skiing, Riley had a rugby skills clinic nearby and then it was onto Confirmation class for the evening!
I think the kids were looking forward to taking a break and getting back into their school routine today!

I'm excited for our King Cake to arrive today from Haydel's Bakery!  Last year I ordered from Sucre, but thought it would be fun to try a different bakery this year.  We'll be celebrating Lundi Gras since Reagan has a school activity tomorrow evening.  So here's this week's menu...

Monday- Crock Pot Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo
Tuesday- Shrove Tuesday Pancakes and Sausage
Wednesday- Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese
Thursday- Soft Beef Tacos, Salad and Mexi Rice
Friday- Garden Vegetable Lasagna
Saturday- Take-out Pizza & Salad
Sunday- out after Mass

How was your weekend?  Are you celebrating Mardi Gras?
